Background
Certificated Engineers play a critical role in ensuring machine safety, productivity, and efficiency.
The route to becoming a Certificated Engineer in South Africa requires ong of two options:
Register, write, and pass the GCC Factories exams with the Department of Employment and Labour, or
Register, write, and pass the GCC Mines exams with the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy.
There has been an increased demand for Certificated Engineers, and this career path has attracted many mechanical and electrical engineering graduates to pursue the certification. However, GCC Candidates and professionals face two unique challenges:
