Notice of Change of Examination Date for Government Certificate of Competency November 2026
The GCC Factories and GCC Mines Plant Engineering exam dates have been changed from 5 November 2026 to 29 October 2026.
The GCC Factories OHS Act and GCC Mines Legal Knowledge exam dates remain as 12 November 2026.
Below is the communication about the exam date change as received from the Department:
"Kindly note the change of examination date for the following GCC subjects due to the 2026 South African Government Election on 04 November 2026:
08190306 Plant Engineering: Mines and Works
08190316 Plant Engineering: Factories
The examination date for the above subjects will change from 05 November 2026 to 29 October 2026.
Kindly note that we changed the date on our system and it will now reflect as 29 October 2026 on the individual timetables.
The dates for the two subjects below will remain 12 November 2026 as per management plan of 2026:
13050026 Legal Knowledge: Mines
13050046 Occupational Health and Safety Act
Please inform your GCC candidates of the change in date in order for them to make the necessary arrangements."
